2. Scutching
- Poduces:

3. Hackling
- Produces:
- Hackled Flax
- Hackled Tow (Machine Tow)
- Hackled flax can undergo:
- Shaping to form dolls (puppets/canapa)

4. Carding
- Hackled Flax/Tow are taken to the carding stage.

5. Drawing
- Slivers are taken to the drawing stage.

6. Wet Spinning
